DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., 28 June 2005. Raydon Corp., a virtual reality training company in Daytona Beach, Fla., is set to upgrade 62 Army National Guard main battle tank and armored fighting vehicle training simulators.
Raydon officials say they are working under a $7 million contract to upgrade M1A1 Abrams battle tank and Bradley Fighting Vehicle trainers that are deployed around the United States.
The simulators are designed to train combat vehicle crews in gunnery and crew coordination. Raydon will upgrade visual and computational equipment built into the 15-year-old simulators. The improvements will be made over the next 12 to 18 months.
