Microwave Radio to deliver 70 troposcatter satellite radios

BILLERICA, Mass., 14 Sept. 2005. Engineers at Microwave Radio Communications in Billerica, Mass., won a $6.2 million order Sept. 14 under GSA federal supply Schedule no. GS-35F-8090P for 70 Troposcatter Satellite Radios (TSSR).

BILLERICA, Mass., 14 Sept. 2005. Engineers at Microwave Radio Communications in Billerica, Mass., won a $6.2 million order Sept. 14 under GSA federal supply Schedule no. GS-35F-8090P for 70 Troposcatter Satellite Radios (TSSR).

This sole-source contract goes to Microwave Radio because this company is the only known source to manufacture TSSR systems compatible with legacy systems AN/TRC-170 V(5), AN/MRC-142, AN/TSC-93, AN/TSC-85, and USC-65 LMST, currently in use by the Department of Defense.

The contract from the Marine Corps Systems Command at Quantico, Va., includes electronic components, assembly components, and associated items.

Work will be in Billerica, Mass., and will be finished by May 2006.
