ITT supplies airport surveillance radar to Oman

December 22, 2005

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., 22 Dec. 2005. ITT Industries, Inc. today announced it has been awarded a Foreign Military Sales contract by the U.S. Air Force Electronics Systems Center to supply a Terminal Airport Surveillance Radar (TASR) to Oman.

The delivery of the TASR, in late 2006, will enable the Royal Oman Air Force to expand its capabilities and better support its mission requirements. The total potential value of this contract is approximately $10 million. The work will be performed by the Gilfillan Division in California.

TASR provides air traffic control services to military or civilian aircraft in a terminal maneuver area around an airfield. This includes support sequencing and separation of aircraft, navigation assistance, and airspace control services within the terminal airspace.

Since the first production in 1996, TASR has been upgraded with commercial off-the-shelf processors, improved high-reliability HPAs, superior weather monitoring and reporting capability, and increased coverage to match the US and international standards.

The ITT family of ATC solid-state radars is available in fixed, transportable, and mobile versions for both civil and military applications worldwide. The number one choice for military ATC services in the world, ITT¹s radars are operational, in various configurations, in several countries.

ITT Industries, Inc. supplies advanced technology products and services in key markets including: fluid and water management including water treatment; defense communication, opto-electronics, information technology and services; electronic interconnects and switches; and other specialty products. Headquartered in White Plains, N.Y., the company generated $6.8 billion in 2004 sales. For more information, see www.itt.com.
