  • July 31, 2006 -- Department of Homeland Security installs GTS FusionCommand at southeastern Arizona border
    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., 31 July 2006. Global Technical Systems (GTS), based in Virginia Beach, Va., has announced the installation and delivery of FusionCommand technology to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in southeastern Arizona.
  • July 31, 2006 -- EDO to acquire Huntsville-based CAS Inc.
    NEW YORK CITY, 31 July 2006. EDO Corporation has signed a definitive agreement to acquire CAS Inc., a privately-held company that provides engineering services, logistics support, and weapons-systems analysis to the Department of Defense. The purchase price of $175.6 million will include a cash payment of $170.7 million, plus restricted EDO common shares valued at $4.9 million.
  • July 28, 2006 -- ATS presents active and passive heat sinks to cool Freescale dual-core processors
    ORLANDO, Fla., and NORWOOD, Mass., 28 July 2006. Advanced Thermal Solutions Inc. (ATS), an engineering and manufacturing company focused on the thermal management of electronics, has introduced two new heat sink solutions for cooling Freescale Semiconductor's MPC8641D Dual-Core PowerPC Processors, after more than a year of design and testing. ATS is demonstrating the two new cooling solutions, as well as its maxiGRIP technology, at the Freescale Technology Forum.
  • July 27, 2006 -- AdaCore to provide GNAT Pro Ada toolset to Boeing TSS division
    NEW YORK CITY, 27 July 2006. AdaCore has been awarded a contract to provide its GNAT Pro Ada toolset and development environment to The Boeing Company's Training Systems & Services (TSS) division in St. Louis, Mo., where it will be used for the development of Ada flight simulation code.
  • July 26, 2006 -- DRS to design and produce environmental control equipment for U.S. Army
    PARSIPPANY, N.J., 26 July 25, 2006. DRS Technologies Inc. has received a $44 million contract, including options, to design and produce 60,000 BTU/hr Improved Environmental Control Units (60K IECUs) for the U.S. Army. The contract was awarded by the U.S. Army's Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Acquisition Center - Washington in Alexandria, Va.
