Raytheon awards LaBarge a $2.1 million contract as part of JSOW program

July 13, 2006

ST. LOUIS, 13 July 2006. Raytheon Missile Systems has awarded LaBarge Inc. a $2.1 million contract to provide additional cables, called seeker harnesses, for the Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) system.

JSOW is a glide weapon that uses global positioning satellite information to find its target. Designed to ensure a fighter's survival in combat, JSOW operates outside the range of an enemy's line of air defense. JSOW has been combat proven in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The LaBarge-built cables send electronic data signals throughout the weapon. LaBarge also is providing cable assemblies used to perform tests for JSOW functionality.

LaBarge will perform the work at its Berryville, Ark., and Joplin, Mo., facilities.
