TECORE and TCOM introduce rapidly depoloyable wireless communication system at MILCOM 2006

October 24, 2006

WASHINGTON, 24 October 2006. TECORE Wireless Systems, a developer and manufacturer of wireless systems, and TCOM L.P., a provider of weather-hardened tethered aerostat systems, have unveiled the Airborne Rapid Deployment Cellular System at MILCOM 2006.

The GSM/CDMA wireless system utilizes TECORE's Rapid Response Mini-Cellular Systems and TCOM's mobile 17M Aerostat to deploy a wide area cellular coverage umbrella for emergency response situations and tactical communications.

TECORE's multi-technology Rapid Response Systems support GSM and CDMA wireless voice and data services, using the industry's only multi-technology Mobile Switching Center. The TCOM tactical 17M Aerostat, equipped with RF payload and antenna systems, can be deployed at up to 1,000 feet, providing unobstructed cellular coverage areas of over 600 square miles.

Self-contained in two 20-foot ISO containers, the complete system can be deployed in two hours or less. The system can interface with local telecommunications and/or satellite facilities to provide integrated reach back services. A live demonstration of the airborne system is planned for 2007.

MILCOM 2006 is being held October 23 through 25 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.
