The PVS-7A goggles enable military ground forces to conduct critical missions during the darkest conditions. The goggles can be hand-held, helmet-mounted, or head-strapped for hands-free operations.

The ITT night-vision device senses light from the visible spectrum to 0.9 micron infrared, has a field of view of 40 degrees, a minimum brightness gain of 3,000 foot-lumens, and can focus from 20 centimeters to infinity.

The goggles require battery power of 2.7 to 3 volts DC at 50 milliamps, use two 1.5-volt AA alkaline or one 2-volt lithium battery, and operate in temperatures from -51 to 52 degrees Celsius.

ITT will do the work in Roanoke, Va., and should be finished by the end of this year. Awarding the contract are officials of the Army Engineering Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. For more information contact ITT Night Vision online at www.nightvision.com.
