Accenture wins $57 million U.S. Navy contract for material readiness and logistics support

March 21, 2007

RESTON, Va., 21 March 2007. Accenture has been awarded a contract worth up to $57.52 million by the U.S. Department of the Navy to provide business transformation services and military preparedness support.

The contract, which was awarded by the Navy's Fleet & Industrial Supply Center, calls for Accenture to provide management support to the Director of Material Readiness and Logistics (OPNAV N4) in facilitating business transformation initiatives for the Navy enterprise.

The Navy's business transformation is designed to enhance the readiness, effectiveness, and availability of warfighting forces through business process changes for all programs.

"The task of keeping U.S. Navy personnel and resources that are deployed around the world in a constant state of readiness represents a considerable challenge," says Eric Stange, managing director of Accenture's Defense practice.

Accenture is the incumbent bidder for the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract, having won the original Navy Sea Enterprise contract in April of 2004. Over the past three years, Accenture has provided strategic- and operational-level support for business-transformation activities under that original contract.
