Boeing contracts Rosum Corp. to develop position location subsystems using broadcast signals

April 21, 2007

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., 21 April 2007. Rosum Corporation has been awarded a contract by The Boeing Company in support of Boeing's development for the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's (DARPA's) Robust Surface Navigation Program (RSN).

The RSN program seeks to exploit "signals of opportunity" to deliver precise location information to the U.S. warfighter in GPS-denied environments, such as urban canyons, inside buildings, and in the presence of GPS jammers. Rosum will develop subsystems utilizing its proprietary position location technology using terrestrial broadcast signals and augmented broadcast signals.

Skip Speaks, CEO of Rosum Corporation, explains: "Our expertise in position location using terrestrial broadcast signals and augmented broadcast signals is a natural complement to Boeing's long-established tradition of excellence in satellite-based precision navigation."

Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
