ITT Electronic offers small PC card connectors and cover sets

SANTA ANA, Calif., 24 April 2007. ITT Electronic components in Santa Ana, Calif., is offering the Cannon Express Card 26 pin edge card connectors and cover sets for 34- and 54-millimeter PCMCIA modules. Stainless steel cover sets can either be snapped together or ultrasonically welded.

With a universal slot design with module formats measuring 5 millimeters deep by 75 millimeters long, the connectors and cover sets enable compact ExpressCard/34 and /54 cards to fit in the same aperture, saving component count.

This design is RoHS-compliant and allows as many as 10,000 cover set mating cycles. The connectors have applications in notebook computers, smart card readers, security ID and biometric devices, TV tuners, and memory media adapters.
