U.S. Army submits $14.4 million order for Star SAFIRE III systems from FLIR

April 25, 2007

PORTLAND, Ore., 25 April 2007. FLIR Systems Inc. has been awarded a $14.4 million firm fixed-price contract from the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command in Huntsville, Ala., for its Star SAFIRE III stabilized multi-sensor system.

The units delivered under this contract will support the ongoing U.S. Army Rapid Aerostat Initial Delivery (RAID) program. Work will be performed at FLIR's production facility in Portland, Ore. Deliveries will begin immediately. This award is made under a $75 million indefinite deliver/indefinite quantity contract that was awarded in October 2006.

"This contract, a continuation of FLIR's relationship with the Army RAID Program Office, demonstrates the value of our systems for force protection applications. We are delighted the Army has again chosen FLIR products for this critical mission," comments Earl R. Lewis, president and CEO of FLIR Systems Inc.
