TUCKER Ga., 14 July 2007. Optima EPS, an Elma Company in Tucker, Ga., offers design services for its cabinet enclosures including thermal simulation, structural analysis, environmental testing, and agency approvals.

Using computational fluid dynamics and finite testing, Optima can identify potential hot spots in the cabinet and use a combination of techniques to resolve the issue with fan placement and type, heat exchangers, and blocking or redirecting airflow.

Optima can also provide structural analysis and environmental testing by ensuring the cabinets can pass the specifications for shock and vibration, and maximum loads. Also, the humidity, salt fog, corrosion, and temperature stresses can be measured.

The simulation and testing can be performed on Optima's various cabinet enclosure styles. The company offers cabinets for Mil/Aero, EMC, Harsh Environments, Seismic, Telecom/DataCom, Industrial, and Medical applications.
