CHANTILLY, Va., 2 August 2007. Citizant, one of the capital area's fastest-growing providers of business and technical solutions to civilian and military government organizations, was awarded the Defense Acquisition Regulation Management Information System (DARMIS) Modernization contract by the U.S. Air Force District of Washington Acquisition Division. The nearly $1 million project launched June 1 and is scheduled for completion by May 31, 2008.

The project will result in the development of a new system that will be deployed by Defense Acquisition Regulations Systems (DARS) and its business partners, the General Services Administration and NASA, to support the needs of case managers.

The new system will replace the existing DARMIS and the DARS Access Database system, which was developed by Citizant to temporarily augment the original DARMIS system and allow for future enhancements.

Citizant supports both defense and civilian government agencies, including the Defense Information Systems Agency, the U.S. Navy, the Defense Logistics Agency, the U.S. Department of Transportation, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Federal Railroad Administration, the Florida Department of Transportation and many other agencies.
