Mobilisa gains GSA contract

WASHINGTON, 13 Aug. 2007. Mobilisa Inc., a leader in innovative mobile and wireless technology, has received an award from the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) for its Defense ID system and wireless research, as well as its development and engineering services.

Mobilisa provides reliable, high -speed wireless access coverage for constantly moving watercraft and is a cost-effective alternative to satellite (or V-Sat) communications.

Mobilisa's Defense ID puts a ruggedized PDA with a bar code and magnetic stripe reader in the hands of security officers. The information that is scanned from an identity card is compared to over 100+ databases of individuals who are wanted for criminal offenses or are debarred from certain installations. The identity systems unit provides technology and services for verification of identification documents provided at any point of entry or inspection against FBI Most Wanted, Interpol, etc
