Rome Research Corp. wins $33 million U.S. Navy contract for satellite communications

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y., 28 Aug. 2007. Rome Research Corporation (RRC), a subsidiary of PAR Technology Corporation, has won a U.S. Navy contract to operate and maintain communications satellite systems for the Naval Satellite Operations Center (NAVSOC), Point Mugu, Calif. The contract, with all options, is valued at $33.0 million.

With the award of this competitive contract, RRC is charged with managing certain operations at four existing facilities operated by NAVSOC, including locations in Point Mugu, Calif.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; Prospect Harbor, Maine; and Finegayan, Guam.

NAVSOC is responsible for operating, managing and maintaining a variety of strategically important satellite systems on behalf of the Navy. These satellites provide communications services to military forces worldwide.

"This contract enables RRC to serve our national defense and support critical global communication systems by providing state of the art communication services with cutting edge technologies to our nation's military," Senator Clinton commented.
