White Electronic Designs earns Class K certification for space components

August 21, 2007

PHOENIX, 21 Aug. 2007. White Electronic Designs Corp. in Phoenix has earned Class K certification, the highest reliability level prescribed by MIL-PRF-38534. Compliance to this standard allows the design and manufacture of microelectronic assemblies for mission-critical defense and space programs.

White Electronic supplies defense-grade semiconductor packaging, as well as advanced self-contained multi-chip and system-in-a-chip modules. The company's hybrid microcircuits and advanced design modules are used in space flight hardware to minimize both size and weight. Its products are also used in missiles, avionics, ordnance, navigation and other military applications.

"WEDC is now one of only 16 organizations that's achieved Class K certification," says Dan Tarantine, Executive Vice President for White Electronic Designs Corp. (WEDC). "This certification confirms WEDC as the premier microelectronics solutions partner in constructing extended environment, high-reliability, high-density products."
