ANNAPOLIS, Md., 13 Sept. 2007. TeleCommunication Systems Inc. (TCS), provider of mission-critical wireless communications, has been awarded a five-year, $25 million indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract to support the Department of Defense (DoD). Under the contract terms, TCS will deliver secure next-generation SwiftLink communications products and services to support DoD initiatives.

The initial task orders are valued at more than $6.2 million and the company's executives anticipate delivering the products purchased on those orders within 90 days.

"TCS has a proven track record of delivering reliable and secure communications solutions for the DoD to help meet ongoing missions here at home as well as around the globe," says Maurice B. Tosé, chairman, president, and CEO for TCS. "Our past performance demonstrates that we have the ability to rapidly deploy and deliver these communications solutions to ensure that the DoD achieves success."
