CHELMSFORD, Mass., 30 Oct. 2007. Hittite Microwave Corp. in Chelmsford, Mass., is offering a 40-Watt gallium arsenide (GaAs) MMIC positive-control T/R switch for Cellular/3G, TD-SCDMA, private mobile radio, and automotive telematics applications from 0.1 to 2.1 GHz.

The HMC646LP2E is a low-loss, high linearity GaAs MMIC 40-Watt switch that provides high P0.1 dB compression of +46 dBm, as well as an Input IP3 of +74 dBm on the transmit (Tx) port for use in transmit-receive or LNA protection applications.

Its low distortion at high input power levels as well as its fast switching characteristics makes it applicable to the base station infrastructure. On-chip circuitry enables the HMC646LP2E to operate with single positive control voltages from 0/+3 to 0/+8 volts, with low DC current consumption.

The HMC646LP2E is housed in a small RoHS-compliant 2 by 2 millimeter DFN surface mount package. Samples are available from stock and can be ordered via the company's e-commerce site or via direct purchase order.
