October 24, 2007

FARMINGDALE, N.Y., 24 Oct. 2007. Telephonics Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Griffon Corp., won a $3.7 million contract from the United States Coast Guard for Submersible TruLink Wireless Intercommunication Systems. The Submersible TruLink is a modified version of its current wireless intercommunications system used by commercial and military customers. TruLink provides hands-free, untethered voice communications in very high noise environments. The Submersible TruLink has been designed to survive the harsh maritime environment and will operate after submergence depths of up to 20 feet.

This is a follow-on order to initial systems that were designed, developed, and tested for United States Coast Guard maritime applicationsA>. "The systems will be installed on USCG 47-foot Motor Lifeboats and Defender Class vessels to support Ports Waterway, Coastal, Security (PWCS) Missions. We are pleased to have the opportunity to support USCG with wireless intercommunications that will improve crew safety and enhance their ability to conduct these important Home Land Security missions," states Phil Nicholas, president of the Telephonics Communication Systems Division.

The Submersible TruLink System is supplied under a five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract with the U.S. Coast Guard. Work on this program will be performed at the Telephonics facilities in Farmingdale and Huntington, N.Y.
