Emerson introduces next-generation Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC)

TEMPE, Ariz., 23 Feb. 2008. Emerson Network Power in Tempe, Ariz., is introducing the PrAMC-6210, a next-generation Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) in full- and mid-size versions for AdvancedTCA (ATCA), MicroTCA, and proprietary architecture systems.

The PrAMC-6210, based on the Freescale MPC8641D PowerPC dual-core processor, is designed to provide modular, upgradeable, computing power for manufacturers of telecommunications, defense, aerospace, homeland security and industrial automation equipment.

Developed by the Embedded Computing business of Emerson Network Power, the PrAMC-6210 is designed to provide modular, upgradeable, computing power for manufacturers of telecommunications, defense, aerospace, homeland security and industrial automation equipment.

Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) can use the PrAMC-6210 to boost the performance of their existing Power Architecture applications, such as protocol processing, packet processing, data management, and I/O management.

The PrAMC-6210 has carrier grade features, such as a dual-flash bank architecture and a high mean-time-between-failure (MTBF), enabling network equipment providers to address high availability requirements.

Operating system support includes MontaVista CGE Linux OS, Wind River Platform for Network Equipment-Linux Edition and Wind River VxWorks RTOS.
