Quantum3D introduces graphics-processing unit for DO-178B safety-critical applications

March 7, 2008

SAN JOSE, Calif., 7 March 2008. Quantum3D Inc. in San Jose, Calif., is introducing an FAA DO-178B Level-A certifiable graphics-processing unit (GPU) called IGL178, which enables avionics developers to deploy industry-standard real-time OpenGL ES and SC applications on systems and displays.

The OpenGL safety-critical IGL178 also enables GPU-equipped systems without safety-critical certifiable drivers to host certified applications by eliminating un-trusted driver code.

IGL178 is for development and deployment of new classes of inexpensive avionics, weapon systems, and other advanced-display applications -- including primary and multifunction displays, heads-up displays, standby instruments, and soft controllers.

The IGL178 also is for scaleable ARINC 653-partitioned safety-critical and multilevel-secure workstation applications. For more information contact Quantum3D online at www.quantum3d.com.
