QualSec to adapt olfactory sensory technology for Department of Defense applications

June 25, 2008

NORTH LOGAN, Utah, 25 June 2008. QualSec has applied for an SBIR grant to adapt its Nano-Nose electronic olfactory sensory technology for use by the U.S. Department of Defense. The Department of Defense has requested proposals for the development of an Autonomous Airborne Chemical/Biological Cloud Detection Sensor.

QualSec managers expect to meet the objectives of the proposed project: To develop a small, low-power, and accurate sensor for in-situ detection of chemical and biological clouds by measuring one or more constituents of the cloud, such as the size and concentration of the particulates, chemical composition, or other distinguishing characteristics.

QualSec's proposed sensor will have the ability to operate from a fixed or moving platform in volatile environments.
