SprayCool signs global OEM agreement with GE Fanuc

July 29, 2008

LIBERTY LAKE, Wa., 29 July 2008. SprayCool, maker of thermal management solutions for military, aerospace, and industrial computing customers, has signed a global agreement with GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms, a unit of GE Enterprise Solutions. GE Fanuc will source the SprayCool Multi-Platform Enclosure (MPE) to provide integrated subsystems that include GE Fanuc's commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) embedded computing solutions for military applications.

The agreement solidifies SprayCool's strategic direction to align itself with industry-leading turnkey solution providers to further the adoption of its unique direct-spray technology and the environmental isolation properties embodied in their recently introduced MPE product, says a company representative.

"We are very excited to enter into this global partnership with GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms," explains Matt Gerber, CEO and president of SprayCool. "Its industry leadership in embedded computing hardware and software solutions, combined with SprayCool enclosures will facilitate the customers' sourcing of full turnkey solutions, and provide them the flexibility to choose from a wide range of electronics card options."

The SprayCool enclosures enable GE Fanuc to deploy high-performance computing electronics in harsh environments, as well as to offer customers a mix of boards with various ruggedization levels within the same platform, saving both space and weight.

"We are well known for our ability to provide demanding customers with powerful, highly reliable embedded computing subsystems capable of operating in the harshest environments," says Peter Cavill, general manager, Military & Aerospace Business, GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms, "and this agreement with SprayCool extends our capabilities even further, allowing us to propose very high performance solutions that would previously not have been possible."

SprayCool patented two-phase, liquid-cooling technology uses a fine mist of non-corrosive, non-conductive liquid, sprayed in a thin layer, which evaporates and cools electronics. The process continuously cycles within a sealed, closed-loop system.

SprayCool products isolate the electronics from dirty, corrosive environments found in military and industrial applications, as well as provide a controlled and isolated environment for a broad mix of electronics in a package that is smaller, lighter, more power and cost efficient, and faster to deploy by the integrator, says a representative.
