ECHING, Germany, 28 Sept. 2008. Kontron in Eching, Germany, is introducing the ETX-DC embedded computing module for POS and industrial control applications as well as for harsh environments that require passive cooling and sealed housings.
The ETX-DC is based on the 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor N270 that is part of the Intel Embedded Roadmap to ensure a seven-year life cycle. The embedded computer has 2.5 Watts TDP for the processor, 6 watts TDP for the Intel 82945GSE graphics memory controller hub and 1.5 Watts TDP for the Intel I/O controller hub 7-M (ICH7-M), and requires a maximum TDP of 12 to 15 Watts.
