EL SEGUNDO, Calif., 3 Oct. 2008. International Rectifier (IR) in El Segundo, Calif., is introducing the HTA family of high-temperature DC-DC converters for high-power electronics subsurface uses and other applications with operating temperatures as hot as 185 degrees Celsius.

The power electronics devices are for applications like down-hole drilling, seismic analysis, natural resource exploration, and jet engine-control electronics. The DC-DC converters serve as building blocks and intermediate bus converters for power systems. The converters are available as commercial off-the-shelf (COTS).

The HTA series can provide as much as 20 Watts of output power over extreme case temperatures of minus 35 to 185 C. The devices have an input voltage range of 150 to 250 volts, and come in single- and dual-output configurations.

Input and output are galvanically isolated to protect the output loads from catastrophic system failures at the input side and provide the flexibility of stacking several converters to achieve a higher output voltage. For more information contact International Rectifier online at www.irf.com.
