American Science and Engineering gains $2.8 million ZBV order from Middle Eastern government

BILLERICA, Mass., 24 Dec. 2008. American Science and Engineering Inc. (AS&E) won a $2.8 million order from a Middle Eastern government for multiple Z Backscatter Vans (ZBVs).

Configured for harsh environments, the ZBVs will be utilized for counterterrorism applications, including securing government facilities and mobile checkpoints. The order includes AS&E provided operator training, service, and warranty.

"AS&E continues to increase its ZBV installed base in the Middle East," says Anthony R. Fabiano, president and CEO. "With the ZBV's exceptional versatility and explosives detection capability, it remains an ideal tool for this Middle East Government's crucial mission to protect their high-threat facilities. Its varied operating modes provide maximum maneuverability and flexibility for multiple applications, including urban surveillance and checkpoint security."
