  • December 30, 2009 -- U.S. Army fires TALON laser-guided rocket rounds from OH-58D Kiowa Warrior
    EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla., 31 Dec. 2009. The U.S. Army fired two TALON Laser-Guided Rocket guided test vehicle rounds during the Aviation Multi-Platform Munition Demonstration. The TALON LGR rounds were launched from a U.S. Army OH-58D Kiowa Warrior and hit targets at 3,500 meters (2.17 miles), reveals a Raytheon representative. It exceeded accuracy requirements for the Department of Defense's Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System II program.
  • December 30, 2009 -- Micro Systems wins $16 million contract to supply avionics to Air Force
    LANCASTER, Pa., 30 Dec. 2009. Herley Industries Inc. won a multi-year option contract with a potential value of $16M from Composite Engineering Inc. (CEi) of Sacramento, Calif., for its avionics suite for the Air Force Sub-scale Aerial Target (AFSAT), also designated as the BQM-167A.
  • December 29, 2009 -- MQ-5B Hunter UAS's payload interface computers designed by Parvus
    SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, 29 Dec. 2009. Engineers at Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) integrated Parvus DuraCOR 810 mission computers into the MQ-5B Hunter Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS).
  • December 29, 2009 -- Parvus supplies payload interface computers for MQ-5B Hunter unmanned aircraft system
    SALT LAKE CITY, 29 Dec. 2009. Parvus DuraCOR 810 mission computers have been integrated into Northrop Grumman's MQ-5B Hunter unmanned aircraft system (UAS). More than 40 DuraCOR 810 subsystems have been delivered to sub-contractor Melhcorp and configured to operate as the Payload Interface Unit (PIU) for the Hunter UAV. The DuraCOR 810 units monitor, control, and communicate between payloads onboard the Hunter, and control the mounted payloads that include electronics and sensors.
  • December 29, 2009 -- U.S. Marine Corps selects TeleCommunication Systems wireless point-to-point link systems for mission-critical communications
    ANNAPOLIS, Md., 29 Dec. 2009. TeleCommunication Systems Inc. (TCS), a provider of mission-critical wireless communications, won an additional $8 million in funding from the U.S. Marine Corps for TCS Wireless Point-to-Point Link (WPPL) systems. WPPL systems provide deployed Marines with secure point-to-point and point-to-multipoint transmission of voice, video, and data communications over terrestrial microwave radio links.
