Cole Hersee offers smart battery isolator to ease loads on system batteries

January 27, 2009

BOSTON, 27 Jan. 2009. Cole Hersee Co. in Boston is introducing its smart battery isolator 48525 and 48530. for electrical applications, which prevents loads on the auxiliary battery from draining the starting battery.

The smart battery isolator is not specific to an alternator type, and is small, lightweight, and generates low amounts of heat, company officials say.

The smart battery isolator reduces charging system workload by not connecting to the auxiliary battery until the primary battery is charged to 13.2 volts to reduce strain on charging components. The device is available in 85- and 200-amp versions.
