PMR provides communications for public safety in Australia

March 13, 2009

VISTA, Calif., 13 March 2009. PMR in Vista, Calif., won an order for its wireless digital video equipment from an undisclosed public safety agency in Australia. The digital system, worth more than $1 million, will provide secure communications via airborne and ground assets for a multi-point microwave network. The system will be used by agency staff for crisis management, mobile command, crowd control, and other tactical activities.

The future of digital video surveillance for public safety agencies is digital video surveillance, says a company representative. PMR's DT200 and DR200 digital transmit and receive systems provide lightweight, portable and highly effective tools for first responders.

"Police and public safety agencies are continually working to expand their capability," says Mike Payne, managing director of PMR. "The ability to have real-time wireless video acquisition minimizes response times and increases the overall effectiveness of each squad. In the end, a complete digital system actually acts as a man power multiplier."

PMR products are used to transmit video surveillance images which support criminal investigations and provide public safety.
