URS to provide Training Support to U.S. Military

SAN FRANCISCO, 14 March 2009. URS Corp. won an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide simulation, training, and testing solutions to the U.S. military under the Army's Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) Omnibus Contract II (STOC II) program.

The multiple-award contract has a maximum potential aggregate value to all 144 awardees including URS of approximately $17.5 billion over a ten-year period.

Under the terms of the contract, URS can compete for, or be assigned, task orders for a variety of services, including providing training and testing, and support to simulated and live training events, as well as modeling, instrumentation, telecommunications, targeting, and gaming systems.

Commenting on the contract award, Randall A. Wotring, president of the EG&G Division, says: "We are very pleased to have been selected for this contract, which underscores URS' expertise in the provision of systems engineering, technical assistance and training services to the U.S. military. We look forward to supporting the PEO STRI's efforts to provide cutting-edge programs and systems for the training of U.S. military as part of this program."
