Advantech offers embedded computer module based on Intel Atom processor

IRVINE, Calif., 14 April 2009. The Advantech USA Embedded & Network Computing Division in Irvine, Calif., is introducing the SOM-6761 embedded computer module that measures 95 by 95 millimeters. The computer board has the Intel Atom N270 processor.

The single board computer module consumes 11 Watts and functions as an integrated graphic engine with support for several displays. SOM-6761 embedded computer also monitors CMOS battery voltage and system fan temperatures to prevent overheating.

The computer module is for low power, small portable devices and applications. The SOM-6761 supports speed step voltage and frequency functions to reduce workload and throttling which lowers power use.
