SAN DIEGO, 21 April 2009 Sessions on counterfeit parts and the trusted supply chain
highlight the second day of the Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum. The conference runs on June 1 through 2, 2009 at the San Diego Convention Center.

The "Perils of Electronic Components" session begins at 8:00 am on June 2 and is chaired by Leon Hamiter, chairman of the Components Technology Institute, Inc.

Other speakers in this session include: Chester (Chet) O'Brien, engineering manager for Parts, Materials, and Processes at BAE Systems, Inc.; Tom Sharpe, vice president at SMT Corp.; and Thomas Lee, staff engineer at the Components Technology Institute.

Following the counterfeit section of the agenda is a session titled "Trusted Sources of Supply Challenges and Solutions" and is chaired by Mike Macpherson, director of business development at Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing.

Other speakers in this session include: Sydney Pope, lead analyst for Land Systems, Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense and Karen Mercedes Gertzel, CISSP, Booz Allen Hamilton – representing the DOD's Information Assurance Technology Analysis Center (IATAC).

Frank Gordon, head of the Navigation and Applied Sciences Dept., at the U.S. Navy Space and Warfare Command (SPAWAR) Systems Center in San Diego will kick off the Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum with his keynote address at 8:40 am on June 1.

Avionics USA is the first global expansion of the successful Avionics conference and exposition, most recently held this March in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
It will be co-located with the Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum. Both shows will share an exhibit floor, but have two separate conferences.
