Activu completes net-centric information display system for FASI-G program

DENVILLE, N.J., 8 May 2009. Activu Corp. engineers have completed the design and build of a multi-location distributed information display system at Lockheed Martin's new Global Sustainment Command Center in Columbus, Ohio. The work serves the Fleet Automotive Support Initiative - Global (FASI-G) contract for logistics and sustainment support for U.S. military land-based vehicles. The Activu display system provides dynamic information display and sharing across six locations within the facility connected via a network.

The Activu network-based system enables personnel to access and display various types of information derived from a range of systems: multiple data applications, video sources (NTSC TV, HDTV, satellite tuners, and DVD), and guest computers. Personnel in the main Command Center can dynamically compile and share integrated information views with others in a conference room, providing awareness of current events for an efficient response, says a representative.

A large display wall -- 2x6 matrix of 50-inch Mitsubishi MegaView rear access DLP projection cubes -- was installed in the Command Center, along with 40-inch, 46-inch, and 65-inch panels from NEC and Sharp installed in other locations. A ceiling-mounted, front-screen 1080P projector in a conference room is controlled by a wireless tablet Compaq PC.
