CACI to support lifecycle management, software acquisition for U.S. Army

May 15, 2009

ARLINGTON, Va., 15 May 2009. CACI International Inc. won a task order of $38 million under the U.S. Army's Strategic Services Sourcing (S3) contract vehicle. The award, for one base year and two option years, supports the Army's Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC), Software Engineering Center (SEC), in Ft. Monmouth, N.J.

The contract work will focus on support software acquisition and full lifecycle management to enhance the command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities of current and future Army Battle Command System (ABCS), with specific emphasis on command and control.

The SEC serves as the software technical organization in the evaluation, insertion, and integration of advanced software technology, especially that within the C4ISR domain. In addition, a critical responsibility of the Center is to oversee the acquisition of high-quality software to ensure that it has been correctly developed and documented and will be supportable during postproduction, says a representative.

CACI's C4ISR functional core competency team will help the SEC to architect, design, develop, code, integrate, test, and support the systems, software, databases, and components being acquired.

The goal is to provide agile support to enable rapid response to changing user needs during development, while improving overall quality and efficiency.
