Computer board manufacturer Merix Corp. to focus on military board products

May 7, 2009

FOREST GROVE, Ore., 7 May 2009. Leaders of computer board manufacturer Merix Corp. in Forest Grove, Ore., are setting their sights on rebuilding the company's defense and aerospace printed circuit boards business, officials say.

Merix officials over the past eight months have realigned the company's U.S. and Asia facilities to switch from quick-turn circuit board prototyping to high-volume printed circuit boards manufacturing.

The company also is attaining important military certifications for military board manufacturing, and are focusing American jobs in California and Oregon on military board products, company officials say.

Merix has won contracts with major U.S. defense and aerospace companies for military circuit board products in military and aerospace systems, including flight deck avionics, military communications, and simulation and training applications, company officials say.
