Company experts are doing the work under terms of a $10.1 million small business innovative research (SBIR) phase-3 contract awarded on 8 May from Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington. The contract follows Navy SBIR phase-1 and -2 contracts for similar work awarded in 1986 and 1987.

These research contracts involve relatively low-power electronics, advanced algorithm design, and real-time data fusion technologies, as well as commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products, and integration of hardware and military software.
