Performance Technologies offers AdvancedMC module with Intel integrated processor

ROCHESTER, N.Y., 16 May 2009. Performance Technologies, a provider of network communications solutions, announced that its IPnexus MicroTCA systems now support an AdvancedMC option featuring the Intel EP80579 system-on-a-chip (SoC) integrated processor. The new AMC123, an x86 Intel-based module, combines high-performance compute capabilities with low power consumption, making it well suited for cluster computing, edge, wireless, or aerospace/defense communications and control applications.

Performance Technologies' award-winning IPnexus MicroTCA systems powered by the new AMC123 is targeted at such applications as LTE, WiMAX, media, and signaling gateways, military communication systems, and ground control systems. The 1U application-ready systems come standard with an integrated processing module, such as the Intel EP80579 or Intel Core 2 Duo processors; NexusWare, Performance Technologies' Registered 4.0 Carrier Grade Linux; NexusWare Studio, a software development environment; and NexusWare Portal, a remote systems management tool.
