May 5, 2009

SAN DIEGO, 5 May 2009. Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) won a prime contract by U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) to provide chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) and incident response program support. The single-award prime contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a total contract value of $96 million if all options are exercised.

According to the contract, SAIC personnel will provide support services and equipment procurement to the family of incident response systems (FIRS) section of Marine Corps Systems Command. The FIRS team provides consequence management and technologies to incident response and operating forces from Federal agencies, such as the Department of Defense, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the U.S. Marine Corps.

"The Consequence Management support provided under this contract is crucial for our Country's overall preparedness," says John Ferriter, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.
