U.S. Army contracts Future Skies to enhance data sharing

May 9, 2009

WALL, N.J., 9 May 2009. The U.S. Army has selected Future Skies Inc. for an award under the Collaborative Battlespace Reasoning and Awareness (COBRA) contract. This Advanced Technology Objective (ATO), managed by the Communications and Electronics Research, Development, and Engineering Center (CERDEC) Command and Control Directorate (C2D), Aberdeen, Md., will develop and demonstrate multi-platform, cross-community applications and software services that support integration and synchronization of intelligence and operations functions, describes a representative.

The goal of the venture is to shorten warfighter decision cycles and to increase unification of Battle Command systems.

Says James Pari, director of Business Development at Future Skies. "We will apply innovative technologies and our detailed knowledge of the Battle Command environment to develop advanced capabilities for the Warfighter."

Future Skies has partnered with Global Infotek to develop Semantic Mediation for Army Reasoning and Teamwork (SMART) under the Cobra contract.

SMART will provide a capability to maximize data sharing and data understanding, for the Army's Net-centric migration.

SMART will enable Commanders to process large volumes of data and make inferences about time and space not currently possible in the Battle Command environment, improving battlefield awareness and speed of command.
