21st Century Technologies wins cyber security contract with U.S. Air Force

July 29, 2009

AUSTIN, Texas, 29 July 2009. 21st Century Technologies (21CT), maker of advanced intelligence analytics solutions to combat terrorist threats and cyber attacks, won a three-year G-NET II contract by Air Force Research Lab's Rome, N.Y. directorate. It will be managed by the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) ACO Information Operations Threat Analysis Flight.

This contract with the U.S. Air Force will implement 21CT's flagship advanced intelligence analytics platform, Lynxeon, to enhance the cyber defenses of U.S. Department of Defense components.

The performance location is Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, selected as the preferred location to host the 24th Air Force, the new numbered air force that will focus on cyber security. The Air Force will make the final basing decision once the environmental process required under the National Environmental Policy Act is completed this summer.

Once established, the 24th Number Air Force, or Cyber NAF, will be a key agency defending Air Force networks and supporting Department of Defense's new Cyber Command, which was announced by U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates on June 24, 2009.

Cyber attacks have the potential to adversely impact the U.S. military's aerospace defense and strategic command network.

"By winning this contract, we have secured an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of cybersecurity for the Air Force and the U.S.," says Logan Gilbert, VP, business development and technology, at 21CT. "Sophisticated cyber attacks from U.S. adversaries are not one-time events, but rather are carried out by potentially thousands of synchronized cyber attackers over the course of months and years. Our intelligence analytics platform Lynxeon will monitor the emergence of trends that indicate an imminent distributed attack and provides the required information to secure targeted systems and defeat such attackers."
