3U CompactPCI single board computer for embedded systems introduced by MEN Micro

July 29, 2009

AMBLER, Pa. 29 July 2009. MEN Micro Inc. in Ambler, Pa., is introducing a 3U CompactPCI Intel-based single board computer (SBC) that conforms to the PICMG 2.3 CompactPCI PlusIO standard for low power embedded systems applications with high performance and reliability requirements.

The embedded computer is available with a range of Intel processors, from the 2.26 GHz Core 2 Duo SP9300 to the 1.20 GHz Celeron M 722, and dissipates between 5.5 and 25 Watts.

The PICMG 2.3 CompactPCI PlusIO standard for embedded computing adds serial functions on the J2 rear I/O connector in CompactPCI systems for flexibility and system upgrades. The F19P adheres to the known CompactPCI (PICMG 2.0) standard, while providing a migration path to the new serial CompactPCI Plus standard (PICMG CPLUS.0) to enable the board's use in CompactPCI-only systems and in hybrid systems using both CompactPCI and CompactPCI Plus.

An integrated graphics controller on the Intel GS45 Express Chipset is for graphics performance, monitoring, or control as well as test and measurement. The F19P's heat sink and soldered components meet shock and vibration requirements of mobile applications.

The board offers four USB 2.0 ports, four fast SATA/SAS ports, four PCI Express x1 links and one Gigabit Ethernet port via the J2 rear I/O connector. In addition, the F19P supports seven PCI Express x1 links for fast communication: three for onboard Ethernet and four x1 links, or one x4 link via the rear I/O or a special side card.
