Piezoelectric accelerometer for aircraft active vibration control introduced by Dytran

August 25, 2009

CHATSWORTH, Calif., 25 Aug. 2009. Dytran Instruments Inc. in Chatsworth, Calif., is introducing the Model 3232A1 biaxial accelerometer for active vibration control (AVC) applications on military and commercial aircraft, as well as for health and usage monitoring systems (HUMS).

The piezoelectric aircraft accelerometer for vibration control is incorporated into a mounting bracket, and the accelerometer elements are mounted orthogonally within the bracket and are internally case isolated from the mounting service.

The mounting bracket is designed to eliminate separate mounting brackets and reduce mass.

This unit has a radial 3-pin "Mighty Mouse" connector with a 5/16-28 thread, and 10 mV/g sensitivity. The 3232A1 also has a case isolated design to avoid ground loops and hermetic sealing for normal operation in moist and dirty environments.
