BLACKBURN, England, 8 Sept. 2009. Cobham Defence Communications in Blackburn, England, is introducing a maritime system to provide naval and coast guard boarding parties with long range situational awareness and blue force tracking capability through encrypted image and data transfer for anti piracy and other maritime security applications.

Cobham Defence Communications in Blackburn, England, is introducing a maritime system to provide naval and coast guard boarding parties with long range situational awareness and blue force tracking capability through encrypted image and data transfer for anti piracy and other maritime security applications.

The Marine Interdiction Operations System (MIOS) builds on technology developed for the Cobham Integrated Digital Soldier System (IDSS) also provides navigation and guidance, tactical messaging, and sensor integration.

The system has been designed to support military, coast guard, search and rescue, border protection, law enforcement and special forces organizations that are countering the increased threat from piracy, smuggling, and human trafficking.
