Naval Weapons Station enhances perimeter security with RAPIDGate Program, biometric technology

September 26, 2009

PORTLAND, Ore., 26 Sept. 2009. Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach Detachment Corona has adopted, for its safety-critical application, the RAPIDGate Program to increase security and streamline access for the thousands of vendors, suppliers, service providers and contractors who access the installation.

The RAPIDGate Program, a product of Portland, Ore.-based Eid Passport Inc., is an identity management and access control program. The program includes company enrollment, employee registration, employment status validation, identity authentication, background screening, biometric verification, and entry authorization for vendor, supplier, service provider, and contractor employees that are not authorized a Common Access Card (CAC).

Using Eid Passport's program, employees who register for the program and pass the background screening gain streamlined access to Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach Detachment Corona.

Says Eid Passport CEO, Steve Larson: "The installation has a long and proud history of weapons research and assessment and we are pleased the RAPIDGate Program will be a significant part of protecting such an important installation."

The RAPIDGate Program provides multiple layers of physical security checks including: validation of employment status, identity authentication, background screening, biometric verification, and entry authorization verification.
