PSI gains $8.3 million task order to improve Defense Health Information Management System on the battlefield

October 30, 2009

FALLS CHURCH, Va., 30 Oct. 2009. Planned Systems International Inc. (PSI), a provider of information technology (IT) solutions and services to the federal government, won a task order from the Defense Health Information Management System (DHIMS) Program Office to provide operations and maintenance support to AHLTA-Theater (AHLTA-T), the military's electronic health record for the military theater environment. The task order has a 12-month base period of performance, two one-year options, and a total value of $8.3 million if all options are exercised.

AHLTA-T maintains a comprehensive, computer-based patient record for every soldier, sailor, airman, marine, and beneficiary entitled to Department of Defense military healthcare in theater of operations. Under this task order, PSI and its team members, Evolvent and ASM Research, will provide maintenance, sustainment, and support services, which will improve system speed, reliability, data quality, and usability of existing AHLTA-T products. The new functionalities will improve patient safety and quality of care for approximately 9.4 million beneficiaries of the Military Health System (MHS) TRICARE Program.

"PSI is excited to continue its longstanding relationship with the MHS by delivering high-quality health technology solutions that ensure the delivery of quality healthcare to better meet the needs of our military's medical community," says Terry Lin, chief executive officer, speaking from PSI's Health IT Solutions office in Falls Church, Va. "Since our team has already established a development and testing environment for the AHLTA application, PSI is strategically positioned to deliver cutting-edge support tailored to the theater environment and our nation's fighting men and women in harm's way."
