SAIC delivers safety-critical services for weaponized vehicles to Naval Surface Warfare Center - Crane Division

SAN DIEGO, 1 Oct. 2009. Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) won a task order by the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) - Crane Division to provide safety critical engineering, technical, and management support to the Wheeled Tactical Vehicle (WTV) Support Shelter and Vehicle Automated Diagnostic System (VADS) program initiatives.

The follow-on task order has a two-year base period of performance, three one-year options, and a total value of more than $20 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily at NSWC Crane and at SAIC locations throughout Indiana.

The task order was awarded under the U.S. Navy's SeaPort-e contract.

NSWC Crane maintains a full-spectrum research, development, acquisition, support, and test and evaluation capability for surface warfare combat, and weapons, hull, mechanical, and electrical systems.

Under the task order, SAIC will help NSWC Crane improve the mobility, reliability, and safety of weaponized vehicles. SAIC will provide engineering, design, fabrication, and technical support for the WTV Support Shelter, VADS, and other Marine Corps Systems Command and test measurement and diagnostic equipment program initiatives.
