FREMONT, Calif., 8 Dec. 2009. Elma Electronic Inc. in Fremont, Calif., is introducing handles and panels designed to meet VITA 46/48 specifications for VPX embedded computing systems. They come in 1-, 0.85-, and 0.8-inch widths, and follow the VPX specification that calls for the handle to be slightly offset from typical IEEE handle/panel placement.

The handles for electronic enclosures have Elma's two-step latching process and are ergonomic. Elma also offers long versions of its IEEE and low profile VPX handles.

Elma employs a two-step process for its VPX panels by anodizing the front of the panel for non-conductivity and scratch resistance, and alodining the back and sides for conductivity. Other in-house services include silk-screening, painting, overlays, and assembly of handles and springs.
