Single-board computer with Intel Core i7 for embedded computing in aerospace and defense introduced by ADLINK

SAN JOSE, Calif., 2 Feb. 2010. ADLINK Technology, Inc. in San Jose, Calif., is introducing the Ampro by ADLINK Express-CBR extreme rugged COM express type 2 computer module with the 2 GHz Intel Core i7 microprocessor for embedded computing applications aerospace, defense, and transportation.

The Express-CBR single-board computer operates from 9 16 volts in temperatures from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. The Intel Core i7 integrates CPU, memory controller, and graphics core together. Also supported is the Intel QM57 Express chipset, which is an integrated two-chip solution that delivers power management capabilities and necessary technologies for embedded applications.

The Express-CBR embedded computer provides 3D graphics with outputs including CRT, single/dual channel 18/24-bit LVDS, Embedded DisplayPort, and discrete graphics expansion using one PCI Express x8 port.

The Express-CBR supports as much as 8 gigabytes of DDR3 memory and provides onboard I/O interfaces for Gigabit Ethernet, eight USB 2.0 ports, four SATA ports, and an IDE (PATA) channel. Legacy support includes PCI, LPC, SMBus, and I2C. Software support includes Microsoft Windows 7, Wind River VxWorks 6.7, Microsoft Windows CE 6.0, and QNX 6.3.
