VT Miltope chooses DDC MIL-STD-1553 cards to support Army automatic test systems contract

BOHEMIA, N.Y., 5 Feb. 2010. VT Miltope, a rugged computer manufacturer in Hope Hull, Ala., needed MIL-STD-1553 data bus products to support its contract to supply the U.S. Army with rugged laptops, instruments, and test equipment. They found their solution from Data Device Corp. (DDC) in Bohemia, N.Y.

VT Miltope officials plan to integrate DDC's Express Card and PCI Express Mini Card MIL-STD-1553 solutions into its next-generation Army At-Platform Automatic Test System series of maintenance support devices.

"VT Miltope has long recognized DDC's commitment to quality and dependability, having used DDC products to support several generations of our rugged computers, says retired Army Brig. Gen. Tom Dickinson, president and chief executive officer at VT Miltope. "DDC's long in-service history, extended life cycle support, backwards compatibility, and continuous commitment to quality have reinforced Miltope's decision to again choose DDC for this critical application."

DDC's MIL-STD-1553 cards, components, and software are part of several military flight and ground support programs. For more information contact DDC online at www.ddc-web.com, or VT Miltope at www.miltope.com.
