PCI Systems Inc. in Laurel, Md., is introducing OpenVPX conduction-cooled PCI Express cable link boards to help embedded computing engineers design rugged conduction-cooled embedded systems. The PCI Express x4 and x8 cable adapters are for high-speed applications such as video, imaging, and audio devices for test and measurement of add-on boards in a conduction-cooled chassis.

PCI Systems 3U VPX conduction-cooled x4-x8 host cable adapter installs into a VPX CPU slot. The adapter board complies with VITA 46 CPU slot standards, with power on/cable present. It contains two PCI Express x4 cable connectors on the front panel. The VPX x4 host adapter extends the PCI Express bus to a downstream VPX system.
